About Zippit

The shops were always there. We carry the bag.

Zippit started as a warehouse idea and became a high-street one. Here is how that happened, who is behind it, and what we will not trade away.

Our story

From warehouses to the high street

Zippit began in 2024 as a dark-store idea: a small warehouse in every neighbourhood, stocked by us, packed by us, delivered fast. On paper it worked. In the 2025 pilot it also meant leases, cold rooms, stock we had to guess at, and riders working against a clock.

The best shops were already on the street. Gupta Kirana had the atta. Balaji Hardware had the multi-plug. Sharma Dairy had paneer from that morning. What the street lacked was one cart and one bag. So in 2026 we stopped building warehouses and started connecting shops.

Now you pick from as many shops as you like, one runner walks a short loop of counters, and one sealed bag reaches your door. It costs us far less to build, it sends more business to the shops, and nobody has to race anybody.

Your whole high street, in one bag.
What we set out to build
Timeline

Four steps, one pivot

  1. 2024Concept

    A warehouse on every corner

Two founders sketch a dark-store model on a whiteboard in Domlur: stock it, pack it, deliver it fast.

  2. 2025Dark-store pilot

    One store, honest lessons

A pilot in Indiranagar proves the tech and the bill: leases, cold rooms, guessed stock, and a clock we did not like putting on riders.

  3. 2026Neighbourhood pivot

    Shops stay the heroes

We drop the warehouse. Local shops list on Zippit and keep their prices and regulars. One runner collects for many.

  4. 2026Live now

    Indiranagar and Koramangala

The first two hubs go live, each a short loop of shops around one high street. The same pattern comes next to the neighbourhoods around them.

What we hold to

Three things we will not trade

  • Close by. Not rushed.

We shop from the street you live on. Distance is our advantage, so no part of the trip has to be hurried.

  • Shops stay the heroes

Shops keep their names, their prices and their regulars. We bring the reach, not a rival brand on the shelf.

  • Riders never race a clock

No countdown on the rider's screen, no penalty for a slow lane. Pay is per run, and the rain bonus comes from us.

The founders

Three people, one street each

Fictional founders for a concept brand. Their stories are illustrative.

  • Rhea Kapoor

    Co-founder and CEO

Ran store operations for a regional retail chain. Spent 2025 learning what a dark store really costs.

  • Siddharth Rao

    Co-founder and CTO

Built routing software for delivery fleets. Designed the multi-stop loop a Zippit runner walks.

  • Meenakshi Iyer

    Co-founder, Neighbourhoods

Grew up above her family's provision shop. Sits with every new shop owner to set up their counter.

SEE IT RUNNING

One cart. Four shops. One steady runner.

Try the customer app, or watch the customer, two shops and a rider stay in sync in the demo. Nothing is delivered. It is all a concept.
